Birthday Invitation Wands - project with kids

Birthday Invitation Wands – fun project with kids

Summer is here and so it the party season. With most of our little ones out of school, we are bound to have them being invited out by their friends and we are likely to return the favour by having their mates over. Buying invitations is an easy way out but you can take the creative turn and make the invitations yourself… or even better, have your kids make them!
Our Crew member, Zuzia Bodakowska, and her little princess, Julia, make a set of unicorn themed invitations for a dress-up party. What better way to do it than by making magic wands for the little princesses?!?

A few weeks ago my older daugheter was giving a birthday party. As she is totally crazy about unicorns the topic of the party were these beautiful creatures. I dropped into the idea of preparing unique invitatios. Look at these magic wand. Aren’t they cute? And the most important-your kids can do them on their own. – shares with us Zuzia.

Zuzia and her daughter used:
various Tattered Angels mistable paints
a4 paper invitations
Paper stars
Cut the paper stars out. I used a stencil but you can do it with scissors. And then start spraying. Put a few layers of different colours. We used blues and purples but you can experiment with different colours. Let dry.
Once dry, roll tightly a A4 piece of paper with the text of an invitation on it. Tie it with a piece of string or ribbon. This will create the ‘stick’ to put the star on.

Then simply attach your stars with glue on the top of wands. And that’s it. Super easy.
Unicorn cookies were nice gifts for Julia’s friends. Unfortunately, they were not baked by me…
Make sure you visit Zuzia’s Instagram and blog for more ideas.
Happy crafting!
