It’s middle of March and, at least, theoretically, Spring is here. Unfortunately, some of us are still suffering from the wintery grayness and gloom… So to bring some color into her home, Viktoriya Porechnaya made the brightest Spring Dreamcatcher ever! To top it up, some butterflies landed on it to make sure that Winter finally gets the message… and leaves!
I love bright colors to brighten up these grey days so I tried to re-create spring mood in my home by making a butterfly dreamcatcher. Follow my easy steps and be ready to catch some spring, too!
Viktoriya used for her project:
Canvas Corp Spring Showers: Butterflies on Ivory paper
Canvas Corp – canvas and burlap sheets
Tattered Angels Decor & DIY paint – Jade
Glimmer Mists Starter Kit – Brights
Wooden circle, Crochet Doily
Beads, stripes, threads from my stush
Brushes, Scissors, Needle
I used Glimmer Mists from the Bright Starter Kit as watercolor paints and colored the butterflies on the Butterflies on Ivory Paper.
Then I fussy-cut them out.
I colored a wooden circle frame with Jade Decor & DIY paint – this will be the base for the dreamcatcher.
Attach a crochet doily to the circle frame with a cotton thread.
You can add some beads to the thread as you do it to make the frame more interesting.
To the centre the dreamcatcher, add colourful pieces of canvas and bright burlap to build up layers.
To the bottom of the frame, tie various threads and strips with beads and charms too.
And finally, assemble beautiful butterflies as if they have just landed on the dreamcatcher to have a little break!
Isn’t it a gorgeous way of bringing spring to your home?
You can also place the butterflies all over your house to add the Spring feel and color.
Welcome the bright colors into your house with my Spring Dreamcatcher!
Happy Spring crafting!!!
