Valentine´s Day is one of the most popular occasions when it comes to card giving. Why not Create A Mixed Media Valentine´s Day Card this year. Giving a Valentine or a secret message on this holiday is a great way to remind someone they are loved. This short season that sneaks up on us right after the holidays, is a fun time to create a few cards and share a little love or create a special card for the one you love. If you are sharing them with a class, club or friends, you might choose a simple card style that you can make a dozen or two and if you are making one for someone special you can go all out and create lots of texture, layers and beauty.

” Canvas Corp has such a great selection of patterned papers that fit well togheter for a card like this. This card actually looks more complicated than it is. Simply cutting pieces of paper and distress the edges before layering them gives you added dimension. Then add some wrinly lace, a flower & some leaves or berries. The black & white leaves was cut from the Etched Leaves paper, painted with Glimmer Mist and then added under the flower with hot glue. A piece of string and splatters of mist give the card that little extra.” – Marie
Now how do you mail a card like this, well it can be a bit tricky, but if you choose a padded envelope and works with your postmaster, it can be done or you can hand- deliver it with a few chocolates and you will probably get back a big kiss. If you love this look and want to make a simpler version, you can layer just a few papers, keeping the card flat like this and then you can slip a note inside or add a sentiment on the front. The key is “messing” up the edges a bit to get this fantastic, edgy look.
