It’s Karen Jiles, and I’m sharing this “Creative Wings” Inspirational Journal that I created with the Compose Your Life Collection.
The papers within the collection scream creativity. The collection includes several patterns that coordinate perfectly together so whichever way you decide to use them, your projects are sure to be gorgeous!
The flowers were easy to cut out and pop up throughout the creation of the journal. Since the collection includes various prints and textures, it was easy to coordinate paper choices. I complimented the paper collection with flowers, paper straws and dyed ribbon. The journal itself measures 5 ½ x 8 ½.
Karen used in her project:
Canvas Corp Compose Your Life Paper Collection
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Dazzling Diamonds
Composition Book
Watercolor Paper, Corrugated Board
Flowers, Decorative Straws, Dyed ribbon
Distress Ink, Gesso
Paintbrush, Scissors, Trimmer
Hot Glue, 3D Tape, Foam Tool
Cut Compose Your Life Collection patterned papers, corrugated board and watercolor paper down to layering sizes.
Distress edges with coordinating ink and adhere the layers together as shown in the photo.
Cut flowers from the Red Flower Pieces sheet from the Compose Your Life Collection and adhere to journal.
Pop up flowers as desired. Add paper straws.
Cut sentiment from Compose Your Life Collection paper collection, distress the edges and adhere to the journal.
Add flowers and dyed bows using hot glue.
Note: I dyed the ribbon using Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.
Using a paintbrush, tap gesso on top of the journal and embellishments. Continue embellishing as desired.
As you can see, the Compose Your Life elements work so well with other papers and colors!
They have completely changed the look of my journal – now I have a delicate place to write my thoughts in.
Have a great day!!!
