We are heading with full speed against Christmas but we really hope that you have some crafty time coming up because we have cooked up a really fun challenge for December. We hope for a whole bunch of shimmering, innovative and beautiful projects for this challenge – Create your own Christmas Ornament or Christmas Bauble.

The How to:

To enter this challenge you need to link up your entry  Blog post, or post on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest (link to the actual project – not the whole page) by using the linkytool below. You have until the end of January 4 to submit your project!  All submissions must have #ccbchallenge somewhere to be considered.

Only 1 entry per person allowed. Are you a previous winner? That does NOT exclude you for winning again – please join in!!

We will invite the winner of the challenges to be our Guest Designer. This means that they will get a box filled with goodies from all 3 Canvas Corp Brands to play with.

This is how some of our Crew Members created inspired by the challenge:

Lena Holmström

I created this fun piece with a acrylic buble, and old thermometer, a old silver spoon and then I used a vintage bracelet at decoration round the foot. I used Architextures Wings & a dress form to decorate.

Cathy Frailey

Cathy Frailey here with simple little Christmas balls made from plastic strips and colored with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists! The mists on the plastic make interesting patterns when dried with a heat tool – and the 2-tone shimmer is fabulous! Use decorative brads, like snowflakes, to hold them together! And add a personal touch with a tree on top or a package dangling inside! Limitless possibilities with Tattered Angels – make them all one color, make them darker, make them bright. And personalize them with fun extras! Super simple and your kids can join in, too!

For our first Christmas challenge I have decided to make a mandarin using Canvas Corp 12 x 12 Canvas Sheet – Natural Canvas. It is easy to make project, you can do it with your child. Mandarin is a traditional Christmas fruit in my country, but you can make any type of round fruits, such as an apple of may be even plum, all depends of you creativity. Also I made short video tutorial, hope you will enjoy it!

My old boring one color Christmas Bulb got a new life! First I glued the wrinkled paper around old bulb and colored it with Glimmer Glam. It make dark and rough surface on bulb. I colored cotton canvas with Red Chillies mist. Then I tear a suitable piece of cotton canvas for decoration. Finally, put the glue parts into place: cotton canvas, burlat and rope. I love my bulb!

I love a seaside theme with my Christmas decorations, but they are either hard to find or really expensive. So I thought why not make my own by swirling paint around in an inexpensive plastic bauble. The effect is stunning when the light hits the gold paint, and the Sari Silk is a more organic way of hanging the ornament.

Products from Canvas Corp Brands: Tattered Angels Baseboard Paint Wave. Tattered Angels High Impact Paint – Gold. Tattered Angels High Impact Paint – White.

My daughter has a new house this year and will have her first Christmas Tree of her own. We have a tradition where we always include hand made ornaments on our tree, So I wanted to create her a few ornaments for her tree to carry on that tradition.

I knew for this challenge I wanted to try and do something fun and unexpected. I decided I thought it would be fun to upcycle an actual lightbulb for the bulb challenge. I had recently switched all our candelabra bulbs to the LED type, so I had a few straggler older bulbs. I started by painting the entire bulb with High Impact paint in white. Once that was totally dry I lightly drew in lines where I wanted the candy cane type stripes to be. I then went back over my pencil lines using a detail brush and some Decor and DIY paint in scarlet. Once the red stripes were dry I added the fun sparkly marabou feather trim to the top using liquid glue and then glued the bent tip of the bulb into a cute sparkly pom pom to finish off my ornament. I love how cute this project turned out and a great way to use up those old fashioned bulbs you may have laying around!
