Easy Valentine Cards

Valentine’s Day is a time for giving cards, which makes it the perfect time to CREATE. Here are a few simple valentine card ideas that are quick, easy, inexpensive and oh so creative.

Mini Canvas Cards

I don’t know why, but everything is cuter in mini size, including these 2×2 mini stretched canvases. They’re the perfect size for handmade valentine cards and fit like a glove in these mini envelopes.

To make, cover the canvas in either Glimmer Mist or High Impact. For a glimmery, translucent effect use Glimmer Mist. For a high coverage, opaque effect, use High Impact. Cut apart the paper “Sending Love Words” to create your message. This paper is so much fun because it’s covered in cute love sayings that allow you to create a custom message for your valentine. Stuff them in these little envelopes and you’re good to go!

Heart Flutter Card

If your valentine is one that makes your heart flutter, this paper was made for you!

Cut the paper to the dimension of your choice (preferably a dimension that will fit into an envelope!). The Paris Hearts on Ivory paper is fantastic when creating fluttering hearts. No seriously, it’s one of my favorite papers because LOOK at what you can do with it! It’s art within art 🙂

Using an X-Acto knife, cut around one side of the heart and fold. You could leave little messages under the hearts for your valentine to uncover. We also sewed a bit of burlap fringe to give the card added texture. But trust me when I say that this is the easiest card to make!

Mini Heart and File Folders

For another quick mini card idea, use heart tags or mini file folders to create something special for your valentine.

Our heart tags are easy to customize with any style of valentine paper. Simply trace the heart, cut and glue to the tag. If you glue only one edge, the tag becomes a card! Decorate and adorn with love sayings and stuff into 3×3 coin envelopes.

These mini file folders are great for holding wallet sized photos and mini notes. We decorated the file folders using our valentine sampler.

So In Love Postcard

Lastly, we make it easy to create DIY postcards that are ready to send off! Our 4×6 postcard options are a great blank to use when creating your own postcard.

We used mini pages and an assortment of red, white and black papers to decorate. The great thing about mini pages is that they are pre-designed into 4×6 cutouts so all that’s required is to cut and paste!
