Fabric is the theme for this month, and the fabulous projects are in abundance on the Tattered Angels blog!
I love working with fabric. Before I started creating paper arts and mixed media, I was a quilter, so mixing fabric and mixed media just feels so right for me. I have three projects to show you today.
I altered a plain white dish towel to create a decorative hand towel that can be displayed in my kitchen.
I loved how the Trunk Bay and Sun Sisters Glimmer Mist really sparkled and how easy it was to use Glimmer Screens to create a batik affect.
I added ribbon, a silk fabric flower that was misted with Rum Punch Glimmer Mist and painted with Chandelier Glam. I also used Chandelier Glam on the buttons. I stamped the yellow center with Classic Accents, Screen Print Clear Stamp and Tattered Traveler, Screen Print Clear Stamp.
These were my little Mackenzie’s favorite crop pants last summer. I really wanted to jazz them up a little for this spring.
I blended an acrylic paint fabric medium that binds to paint to make it permanent on fabric! I poured the paint fabric medium in three different paint trays, then mixed each color of Glimmer Mist. I used Rum Punch Glimmer Mist, Sun Sister Glimmer Mist and Trunk Bay Glimmer Mist. Once mixed, I painted the mixture onto the fabric.
I also used Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze on the metal button and Peach Bellini Glam on the floral fabric trim. I painted the buttons with Chandelier Glam and All That Jazz Glimmer Glaze. I stamped the dragonfly using Field Notes, Screen Print Clear Stamps.
My last project is a bright Spring Easter Basket. I used Patina Glimmer Mist on the fabric lining of the basket. I love the color variations you can see on the muslin fabric and the white fabric trim.
I die cut several flowers and scalloped circles using Spellbinders die templates. I misted Viva Pink Glimmer Mist, Inchworm Chalkboard Mist, Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Mist, Mermaid Glimmer Glam, Grape Ape Chalkboard Mist and Sun Sister Glimmer Mist onto white felt. Then I cut, rolled and layered them to create the flowers.
Thanks for checking out my projects!

What fun – very creative!! Love the fact that the glimmer mist can be made permanent on fabric. What a fun way to add your own unique embellishments to clothes! I will definitely be trying this! (Might need private instruction)!
