In LYnda’s Words
Hi everyone, Lynda here and welcome to another Friday with Friends post. This time featuring some awesome chipboard shapes by Creative Embellishments. I love incorporating chipboard pieces into my projects and these pieces are awesome once they are painted. Upon finding founding these fun wooden coasters at the thrift store, I knew that they would be perfect to make ornaments and that painting these chipboard pieces with some Tattered Angels High Impact paint would be the prefect way to make my vision come to life.

Lets watch Lynda create
First, I started by picking out the chipboard pieces I wanted to use. I painted one coaster with Ivory ~ High Impact and with White ~ High Impact Paint. Once they are painted, I set them aside to dry.
Then, I picked out one leaf and one cat for each of the ornaments. I painted the leaf with the Rose Gold ~ High Impact Paint.
I painted the cat chipboard with the Black ~ High Impact Paint. This paint is awesome and a single coat was all that was needed to get just the right amount of color onto the chipboard. After I finished painting, I set the chipboard pieces aside until dry.
Next, I began putting the ornaments together. I used liquid adhesive to glue the chipboard pieces to the coasters.
Once everything is dry it is time to add the trim to the edge and a loop to hang it with. Using liquid glue, I add the hank around the outside of the coaster and made a loop at the end to hang my finished piece from.
Finally, I used a black pen to create a stitch like pattern around the edge of the cat coaster ornament. I then added the cute verbage sticker. TIP: This is a great way to get extra use out of your sentiment stickers. Cut the words apart and spread them out, like I have done on both the ornaments. For the leaf ornament, I used a stylus and the same Rose Gold ~ High Impact paint to create the dot effect around the edge. I love how this adds some extra texture and shine to the edge of that ornament.

In Closing
I hope this project encourages you to take time to dig around in thrift stores…you never know what you will find that can be repurposed into something amazing!
Happy crafting….Lynda
