Gift Boxes With Canvas Corp Papers and the 123 Memory Keepers Punch Board

Hello friends! Karla here today to share a gift box idea using some beautiful Canvas Corp Papers and the 123 Memory Keepers Punch Board. If you haven’t checked out the amazing selection of Canvas Corp papers you’ll definitely want to! They are a wonderful weight for this project and come in many different colours! Since Christmas is right around the corner, having lots of these special gift boxes on hand in lots of colours is going to be a great idea. I created this one sized perfectly to fit some tea bags in, which will be a great stocking stuffer or teacher gift! And the boxes are so beautiful you know the recipient will want to keep them to put their own treasures in.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

Canvas Corp Turquoise & White Damask Reverse 12×12 Cardstock from ‘Lots Of Color’ Collection, Canvas Corp Turquoise On White 12×12 Cardstock from ‘Rainbow of Printed Solids’ Collection, Canvas Corp Ivory & Black Spoons 12×12 Paper, Canvas Corp Coffee & Tea Labels on Ivory 12×12 Paper, Canvas Corp Jute Rope, Canvas Corp To You Tags, Canvas Corp Small Jacobean Clothespins, Tattered Angels Silver Diamonds Glimmer Glam, Tattered Angels Mists: Patina GM & Water BB

Here’s how I created this gift box set:

Step 1- I cut the beautiful Turquoise and White Damask Reverse paper to 8×8″ and used the 123 Punch Board to punch and score in order to make a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4″ box following the directions included with the board. You can size your box to perfectly fit the gift you are giving very easily with the handy chart!

Step 2 – I used a bone folder to crease the scorelines and then folded it up, adding adhesive to the inside corners and creating the box shape.

Step 3 – I then used an oval Sizzix die to diecut a label from the Coffee & Tea Labels on Ivory paper and I cut out two other small images from the same paper. I fussy cut the spoon from the Black & Ivory Spoons paper – the shading makes it look so realistic!

Step 4 – I used Copics and other alcohol based markers to colour in the images and labels and then used Silver Diamonds Glimmer Glam on the spoon and inside of the oval tea label by painting with a brush. The Glimmer Glam has gorgeous chunks of glitter in it for lots of shine. Be sure to shake it well or even give it a stir with your brush. I grabbed some embroidery floss and stitched around the edge of the oval label using the prepunched holes as a guide.

Step 5 – I cut the Turquoise On White paper according to the directions to create a medium sized bow and used the 123 Punch Board to punch where indicated. Then, I simply glued the edges together to create the bow shape. I love this bright turquoise blue!

Step 6 – I used foam tape and tacky glue to attach the images, labels and bow to the box. Then, I placed some yummy peppermint tea bags inside!

Step 7 – To create a gift tag for my little gift I sprayed the Enjoy tag from the To You Tags collection with the Patina Glimmer Mist. This colour is one of my favourites! I sprayed some of the Water Baseboard Mist on a piece of clear packaging, added a bit of water, and smooshed it directly on top of the misted tag to add a bit more colour and the watercolour effect. I cut another spoon from the Black & Ivory Spoon paper, coated it with the Silver Diamonds Glimmer Glam paint and glued it down to the tag.

Here are a couple closeups of the finished box. I love that Glimmer Glam on top of the coloured vintage looking label. Be sure to check out all the Canvas Corp papers with images in the Shop – it’s like having a full sheet of  pre-stamped images to colour!

I used a Small Clothespin to attach the Jute Rope from the tag, and now this little gift is ready to give out! I will definitely be making more of these!
