Hi everyone, it’s Steph Ackerman here today to show you how to upcycle a storage unit I recently found.
Supplies:
Tattered Angels Color Wash Paint – Rose Gold
Tattered Angels Color Wash Paint – Copper
Tattered Angels Color Wash Paint – Purple Rain
This piece was dirty and dingy and stained so I cleaned it up then used Color Wash paints to add color. Color Wash paints are multi surface water based paints and add the perfect color to wood and natural materials. It’s formulated to tint wood surfaces and allows the natural beauty to show. Honestly, a little bit really goes a long way.
Using a foam brush, I applied a layer of Copper to the unit and allowed it to dry. It dried fairly quickly then I painted on some Rose Gold. There is no need to sand, prime or apply a topcoat over the Color Wash paints.
I also painted Copper inside the unit. The type of wood inside allowed for a marbling effect when using the Copper paint.
Finally, I painted Purple Rain around the unit. I love the color tint on this storage unit.
This unit is the perfect size for my Tattered Angels collection. I can now actually see all the items I own (and perhaps not make duplicate purchases!) .
Thanks for stopping by.
