Misted Card Set – Go Green Challenge

Today Crew Member Mary-Ange share a card set created with inspiration from our August Challenge “Go Green”.

“Here is a step by step to create 2 summer cards. I wanted to give these cards to the mistresses of my children. The green color and the words “relax” and “with the sweet scent of holidays” were therefore ideal to wish them a happy holiday.”

step 1

At first, I create a background in mixed media paper with inks that will serve me to cut shapes. Here I use the Verdigris Glimmer Mist and the Inchworm chalkboard. I then choose dies foliage that I spend in my machine. I also do it in white paper. I create a background again on mixed media paper large enough to cut two cards. I use the Wheat Glimmer Mist, rolling tide, and verdigris as well as the Inchworm Chalkboard. I then cut two cards in this paper.

step 2

I want to use this beautiful butterfly canvas paper corp Spring Showers collection: Spring Sayings on Ivory Paper. I will then use my Glimmer Mists as watercolor. With Dijon, Wheat, Verdigris and Inchworm Chalkboard. To give volume to my butterfly, I use cold embossing with a stylus. And I give a wound movement to the wings with a pencil.

step 3

Then in the Mixology: Mixology Butcher Paper, I cut the word “relax” which will serve me for my 2nd card. There is more than to set up our 2 cards. A background for each. White wire in the middle. For one, I add a foliage previously cut in white paper, as well as the label “relax”. For the second, I put my green foliage created at the very beginning with Glimmer Mist then my pretty butterfly. And I stamp on my white paper my message “with the sweet scent of holidays” which will then serve me as a label.I also add some half-beads and a framing line.

I live with my partner and my two children, in a small village the North of Sweden. I work as a Intensive Care Nurse (with Cardiology as speciality). My "style" is colourful and playful. I often use a lot of papers and embellishments. I try to have the photo in focus, and to reflect the feeling of the photo in the layout. I also makes cards and altered projects. If I would call my style something - well maybe Playful Punk Chic? (if i do a romantic layout, I can´t help giving it a playful twist...)
