Mixed Media Canvas Tutorial – “To the Sea”

Welcome to a tutorial Wednesday! We have a very special treat today from one of our Social Media Brandwagon Team, Marie Johansson! Not only did she create a G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S mixed media canvas, but she has a whole video showing her creative process! Enjoy!

“I created a canvas using the sea teamed Collection Ship to Shore. This collection is just gorgeous with blue & natural colors which are my favorites. The navy feel goes perfect with all types of blue Tattered Angels products – and I love those…   I found the perfect picture of the sea in one of my friends Instagram feed and the colors matched perfectly. “~ Marie

“Watch the video below to see how I created this layout. It is a step by step tutorial with lots of tips and composition information.”

Below you find detailed pictures:

“I love the cut out elements from the Ship to Shore patterned paper – the seahorse & the anchor looks great on this piece”

“High Impact Paint & Glimmer Glam mixed with water create a cool background together with the structure from modeling paste & a stencil”

“Adding the title with a piece of cut out sentiment is a perfect way to make the most of your cut out sheets”

thanks for stepping by today!

I live with my partner and my two children, in a small village the North of Sweden. I work as a Intensive Care Nurse (with Cardiology as speciality). My "style" is colourful and playful. I often use a lot of papers and embellishments. I try to have the photo in focus, and to reflect the feeling of the photo in the layout. I also makes cards and altered projects. If I would call my style something - well maybe Playful Punk Chic? (if i do a romantic layout, I can´t help giving it a playful twist...)
