Hi Canvas Corp Brand Fans.
Did you see yesterday’s post by Peggy Lee Baker??
What a FABULOUS Nautical Shadowbox she created!!
Well….here’s a little secret….. Peggy Lee Baker is my bestie.
Canvas Corp Brands thought it would be a cool idea to send each of us the same design package. Peggy was to create her shadowbox with a Coral theme….AND IT’S FABULOUS! And I was assigned NATURALS!
Peggy picked up some beach themed items and was SO AWESOME to share her stash with me. (What an WONDERFUL friend!!!)
Now I will tell on myself…..I struggled so hard with this assignment….I COULDN’T use “COLOR”! The “color” I was sent to use was, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist ~Roll Top Desk and Crushed Shells. After days of pondering….doing and redoing my project….I finally overcame “my design block” of NO COLOR and here is my end result.
As I didn’t have any “beach” pictures available to use, I decided to create a “home decor” piece to brighten my soul after such a long, cold winter here in Northern NH. (in fact the windchill was -1 while I was taking these pictures)
I flipped over the 12 x 12 Black Shadowbox and adhered a sheet of Canvas Corp Brands ~ Sand and Sea on Kraft with Multi Medium to the back side. I then spritzed the paper with Crushed Shells ~ Glimmer Mist.
I spritzed the 12 x 12 Black Shadow Box Insert with Tattered Angels ~ Baseboard ~ Sandy Beach and gave it a little rub and then adhered it to the Shadowbox using Multi Medium. The banner was created by cutting triangles from Canvas Corp Brands ~ 12 x 12 Canvas Sheet placed over Tags & Ties Triangle ~ Kraft and then over triangles cut from Canvas Corp Brands ~ Solid Chocolate on Kraft all strung along a piece of Canvas Corp Brands ~ Twisted Hemp Rope Natural and accented with various Mini Clothespins. The cut the quote is from the Sand and Sea on Kraft paper.
I made my flowers from Canvas Corp Brands ~ Burlap Sheet ~ Ivory and colored the edges using Crushed Shells ~ Glimmer Mist. The center of the flowers are created using a strip of Chocolate Burlap Sheet.
I did sneak in a bit of color….I used Tattered Angels ~ Safari Green Glimmer Mist and Crushed Shells on the Burlap leaves. And I cannot tell a lie….I spritzed the Knobby Branch die~cut White and Kraft Anchor paper with….shhhh…..Tattered Angels ~ Lox Glimmer Mist. I couldn’t help myself….I just HAD to use some “COLOR”!
