Hello Tattered Angels Mists fans, Lynda here to share a project with you. My youngest is taking art in high school and they were required to bring a particular watercolor book to use in class. She asked me if could come up with some way to decorate her book so it didn’t look like all the other books. Challenge accepted! I knew right away that I wanted to use sprays to make this book unique and easily identifiable.
I am sure she will easily be able to tell which book is hers now.
Products used to re-cover the watercolor book:
Canvas Corp Tissuestock 12 x 12 French Script on Ivory
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Sugar Maple, Cadillac Pink, Fern Green, Sterling
metal stencil, white cardstock
lightbox and stylus
black ink, painters tape, letter stickers
Trim a piece of white cardstock to just larger than the metal stencil.
Using painters tape, tape the stencil to the cardstock.
Emboss the stencil onto the white cardstock.
Trim the embossed image to the desired size; this piece is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches.
Remove the stencil from the cardstock.
Using various spray colors, add color to the embossed image.
Use the same spray colors on the printed tissue paper.
Trim the tissue paper to fit the watercolor book and a piece to be used as a mat for the image.
Adhere the smaller tissue piece to a piece of scrap cardstock for stability.
Adhere the embossed image to this piece.
Adhere the larger tissue piece to the watercolor book.
Add the embossed image on the left side of the cover.
Add letter stickers to spell out ART.
Using the black ink, distress the edges of all the papers.
I also went back in with some of the Sterling glimmer mist that I sprayed onto my mat and brushed it across the entire embossed image to dirty it up a bit.
She loves her new recovered watercolor book and I am sure nobody else in her class with have anything quite like it.
Think of all the fun things you can personalize for back to school with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists!
