Red Striped Tag – A Valentine´s Inspiration

Whether you hit the big drum or just celebrate in a small way, Valentine’s Day touch us all in some way.  Valentine’s Day is not just a day for significant others, it is a great day to celebrate everyone you love.  You can show your love in many creative ways…making a tag to send to a friend,  creating a handmade card to send to a secret Valentine or maybe little treats for everyone at work who could us a little love in their hurt   To give, just because is a great way to show your love and appreciation.   Crew Member, Marie Johansson shows us how to use a bit of this and some of that to make amazing tags that show your love and kindness.  Add a little saying or just leave a secret pretty on someone’s chair, in the mailbox or in their front door.   

I´m here today to show you an easy tag made with my a few of my favorite products from Canvas Corp Brands.  Tags are simple, fast and you can embellish them as much or little as you wish.   – Marie Johansson

Flowers, Vintage lace, Chipboard (Scrap FX), Seam binding ribbon, White heavy body gesso.

Cut the patterned paper to size by using a blank tag, and then use the patterned tag as template for cutting out a tag from the Cardstock, slightly bigger than the patterned piece. Sandwich the two pieces togheter with glue or double sided tape. Add white or clear gesso as a base for your wet mediums. Spray on Tattered Angels Mist or use a brush to apply it (I used a brush). Leave to dry before adding the embellishments.

The red clothespin holds a piece of vintage lace shaped as a heart. A 7gypsies charm and a piece of hemp rope tied round the tag add a bit of dimension and texture. Glimmer Glaze add a touch of glamour to the chipboard.

White High Impact Paint mixed with water works perfect to splatter over a project like this. The flowers where originally dark brown and white – a cote of Glimmer Mist transformed them into two tones of red (I used Red Chilies for both).
