Spring Mixed Media Banner

Lynne Forsythe here to share my latest creations.

Since the first time I encountered a Mix and Match Pad
I have been in love
and the Spring Showers Mix and Match is no exception.

I am in crafty heaven……..all in one pad!

So I wanted to see how many things I could create with
this Mix and Match Pad.

My first creation was a banner….

My banner inspiration came from the
Fabric Panel ~ Spring Showers.

You see….I had pulled out a few of jars of
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glaze.
I would paint on the Glaze and then spritz it with water
creating a “watercoloresque” look!

The fabric panels are 100% cotton fabric with screen printed art, so they can take any type of paint and are washable if the paint is.  Glimmer Glaze is washable.

Glimmer Glaze is perfect for adult coloring on any surface including papers and fabrics and they look terrific.  Add water and let the color spread or use the brush and paint very detailed, your choice!!

But it was soooo fabby I didn’t know what to do….
So I did the unthinkable…
I tore it into strips!
What????

I then ran a running stitch through the strips…..

Next, I pulled out the Canvas Sheet
and cut (6) triangles …
and manhandled them to get frayed edges!

I then gently spritzed the strips with water to make
them a bit more workable as the
TA ~ Glimmer Glaze made the canvas a tad stiff!
I then adhered the strips to the triangle pieces
with Multi Medium ~ Matte.

Now….the Fabric Panel wasn’t the only thing I painted
with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze.
When I painted the butterflies in the
Butterflies on Ivory paper
I wanted them to look “glazed”
so I was rather heavy handed with my application.

I loved the end result!

I want to share with you close~ups of each banner piece.
Now….it’s tell on Lynne time
I chose to use substitute Avocado Burlap for the Orange Burlap
(sorry not a huge fan of orange….sorry!)

Also, I accented the banner with vintage buttons painted with
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glaze ~ Desert Sun.

I used several different colored Cords and Rope.
to hang the banner.

love the layers of cords that looks so natural and offer a pop of color.

Slip colored burlap in between the layers for a great pop of color.  Let your hair down and let the burlap fringe.

Add buttons to the top of banner pennants for a great look.

I still had tons of left over painted paper….
I mixed water with the
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glaze
to create this colorful
Black and Ivory Plaid.

I painted the Glimmer Glaze onto
Seed Packets on Ivory
and spritzed the paper directly with water.

I just couldn’t stop!!!

So…what else did I make??
….a card

….and a Gift Tag!

I still have tons of pieces parts left….
oh what to make next!
