It was National Waffle Day last week, but we are pretty sure any day is a good day for waffles! Waffles come in many different varieties. There are sweet waffles and savory waffles. If you use a basic waffle recipe, you can add in chocolate chips, blueberries, maple syrup, bacon, and pretty much anything! Top it with fresh fruit, whipped cream, ice cream, or even fried chicken.
Why not share the love of waffles with family or friends? Host a waffle bar and invite guests to build their own waffles, whip up a batch of homemade waffles on a Saturday morning for your family, or make a dry mix and give some as a gift!
We found this easy waffle mix recipe over at Kitchn. We love that its a basic mix that you can make quickly and easily with pantry staples that you already have on hand. Just mix up a batch and store it in your pantry for those mornings when you get a craving!
We went ahead and mixed up some of this mix. Most of it is stored easily in an airtight container, but we did measure out some into a mason jar just to show what a cute little gift it would make. Add a little Canvas Corp Ticking Fabric to the lid, tie it with some Jute Cord, and add a little Farmhouse Kitchen tag.
We then wrote out the recipe on one of our Ivory Recipe Cards. You can give the recipe card along with the gift. To make it really nice, go ahead and laminate the recipe card if you have the means to do so. It’ll keep your cards clean and usable for so much longer!
Here’s another tip for you. If you have your recipe card laminated, you can just slip it into the container along with your mix. That way you don’t have to search for it through your stacks of recipe books! Makes this quick mix even quicker!
