This week’s Wings On Wednesday welcomes Steph Ackerman with her mixed media stretched burlap project, which she called Dreams Canvas.
After finding a pair of wood wings, I wanted to use them in a not so conventional way. I began by pulling out all sorts of flowers until I found the ones that I felt would work best with the wings. The rest just happened…
Products used:
Canvas Corp Stretched Burlap Canvas
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint Rose Gold
Tattered Angels Chalkboard Alaskan Salmon
Tattered Angels Baseboard Sunburst
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Twinkle Toes
Flowers, Wood wings
Stamp, Ink, Cardstock
Paint burlap with Rose Gold and Twinkle Toes.
While waiting for the burlap to dry, paint wings with Rose Gold and Twinkle Toes.
Spritz flowers with Alaskan Salmon.
Spritz white cardstock with Alaskan Salmon. Stamp phrase in black ink.
Tear around phrase and mat with torn cardstock.
Assemble all elements on the canvas, then spritz the edges of the canvas with Sunburst.
Here is my finished, bright canvas.
The burlap creates beautiful texture to the background and the color shades work so well together.
I think that the message I wanted to share is really nicely reflected in this project.
‘Nothing is too small to know and nothing is too big to attempt.’
Have a great day!
Remember to stop by for next week’s Wings on Wednesday!
