Does it ever happen to you that you dream out your project, literally? It did to me, for the first time. Call me crazy but I woke up in the morning and had to make it happen. When I looked at the finished piece, ‘Guardian Angel’ was the only thing that came to mind…
But let’s start from the beginning…
You know, when I started my creative journey with CCB as a member of the Creative Crew, I was trying to figure out where I belonged within this big family… Am I a gypsy? Am I a Tattered Angel? Am I a Canvas girl? I could never make up my mind. But then it finally hit me… I am all of them, a little bit of everything. And it reflects in my work – I tend to mix and match products from all 3 of the brands together because… why not?!?
This little assembly is a perfect example of how great 7gypsies Architectures and Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins papers work together; all that splattered with layers of TA paints and… it can’t get much better than this!
Materials used:
wood slice
Tattered Angels Mini Art Mixed Media Origins papers – Elegant Ladies
Tattered Angels Naturally Aged Kit – Turquoise
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Key Lime Pie, Verdigris,
Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist – Pot Of Gold, French Vanilla
Architextures Findings – Angel Wings
Finnabair Heavy Gel Medium
7Dots Studio stencil – Sun Rays
Has this little process video convinced you that mixing and matching is fun? Or persuaded you that mixed media art is nothing to be scared of? Or maybe, it has awaken a little curious soul in you that will use something other than a piece of paper as a base and see where the creativity takes it? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy it!
And remember, don’t try to fit in! Be your own special self!
