We were so excited when Ginny and Sheila shared the fun news that they were published in CardMaker Magazine. This beautiful publication is filled with so many creative ideas it will make your mind just spin. We love how each project is so very different and yet the same Canvas Corp Collection – Farmhouse Christmas was used to create all of the projects.
Winter Wonderland
Sheila created a Winter Wonderland collection in beautiful soft greens and natural ivory colors that is simply stunning. The combination of fabric, paper and embellishments all come together to create this beautiful ensemble, which includes a hand painted Christmas canvas, a crafty gift box and an elegant holiday card.
Created on a Canvas Corp Natural Stretched Canvas, this dimensional canvas is filled with beauty. Sheila shows us a cut out technique where she slips a festive snowflake into the cut out and adds a few jewels.
The variety of greens work so perfectly together next to the whites and ivory pieces Sheila chose. Cutting out the Farmhouse Fabric Panel to create canvas embellishments is a great added touch.
The greeting card is a stunning companion to the canvas and sets the tone before the gift is even open. The exposed Avocado Burlap looks so fun.
The final touch is the a crafty gift box. Sheila used old pattern paper to wrap the box and for the inside “tissue” paper. The added touch of the old printed pattern finished off the gift wrapping process and is a great way to recycle old patterns. The front of the box features a Canvas Corp Ivory Burlap Flower and a cute little handmade tag.
We are not sure who is the lucky recipient of this amazing gift, but we are absolutely sure they will have a smile this holiday season. To see the post visit Sheila Rumney Blog and don’t forget to pick up a copy of CardMaker Magazine this holiday season. A great stocking stuffer too.
Vintage Christmas
The next collection featured in the magazine is brought to you by Ginny Nemchak. This Vintage Christmas ensemble features kraft, black, ivory and just the right touch of turquoise in all the right places.
Ginny layers pieces from the Canvas Corp Farmhouse Christmas Collection onto a Canvas Corp Stretched Burlap. The natural base of burlap is a perfect backdrop for the neutral colors and screams handmade.
The layers are all hand distressed which brings all the layers together and topped with these simple tinted flowers that might be nontraditional holiday colors, but they are beautiful with this color palette.
Ginny also created a gift box that is perfect for holiday this tiny stretched burlap, chocolates, a piece of jewelry, a gift card or maybe even a little cash. A gift card or money can often be the best gift, so wrap it up pretty and the box becomes the gift and what is inside the “bonus”
Ginny mentions in her blog “I created a template for this box and you can find it as well as a complete supplies list in the special Happy Holidays Edition of CardMaker Magazine on craft store shelves now.” If you own a die cut machine or are great with an X-Acto knife you can create you own boxes that are perfect for your next set of gifts. You can find all the details about these projects on Ginny’s blog, Polly’s Paper Studio. We thought you might enjoy a few other projects Ginny shares on her blog using the same Farmhouse Christmas Paper Collection. We love how versatile the collection is and how well these gals show it off.
We wanted to share a few more cards that Ginny created after the magazine was published, but look so terrific we think they would have looked great along side the others.
The Farmhouse Christmas Collection is made up of a combination of ivory and black and kraft and black prints which each look terrific on their own and amazing when paired together. This neutral collection is the perfect backdrop for any pop of color or leave it just like it is for a classic, beautiful Christmas card.
If you are working on handmade gift tags, this one might inspire you to add some crafty touches like this ribbon bouquet, black and white bells (which we love by the way), little bit of tinsel and a fun textured little tree.
Switch gears completely, but the collection is the same. A few of the Farmhouse Christmas papers have a touch of red on the black and kraft background. We love that the red gets to stand out for the holidays and that the papers can be paired with green when desired or can be matched with reds, whites, metallics and neutral colors.
The Farmhouse Christmas Collection is also a great companion to the Canvas Corp Holiday Baking Collection.
So get ready to create those last minute little crafty projects, pick up a few stocking stuffers (we think CardMaker Magazine would be a great choice) or create a few final tags for your gifts.
Happy Creating and Happy Holidays!!!
