Christmas Stocking with a thought – December Challenge

Today Crew Member share a handmade gift inspiered by the December Challenge “Christmas Wish”.

My Christmas wish is that everyone on my list feels loved and happy, and I can help make them feel special by giving handmade gifts filled with homemade treats and goodies! All my family know they’re probably going to get something yummy this time of year, and I’m sure they will be extra excited to get this gorgeous stocking too, which can then be used to hang on their tree or as a home decor piece. These would be perfect to create for teacher and hostess gifts too! Come see how I decorate this beautiful stocking and gift tag set using a Canvas Corp Small Canvas Stocking, Tattered Angels Paints and Mists, burlap, hemp rope and Christmas paper and tags. You can follow along with me as I show you my process and share some Christmas spirit!

this is how karla´s stocking was crated:

Step 1

To create gift tag I misted a manilla tag with Tattered Angels Lobster and Boardwalk Glimmer Mists using a plaid stencil and dried with a heat gun. I also added Ivory Burlap with edges frayed and then glued a tag cut from Farmhouse Christmas: Better Not Pout Tags on Kraft Paper. I embellished with a button, wooden star, gems and hemp string and then added Red Hemp Cord to the top of the tag.

Step 2

Next, I started decorating the stocking by adding Red Burlap to the toe and heel on each side. I used the Tattered Angels Red and White High Impact Paint and a sponge tool to stencil a candy cane stripe and snowflakes on the cuff. I then glued the Red Hemp Cord around the edge of the stocking cuff and hand stitched a blanket stitch around the side edges of the stocking.

Step 3

I stenciled stars on the stocking with Kraft High Impact Paint. Lastly, I wrapped some homemade gingerbread cookies up and tied the adorable Krafty Christmas Tags on each cookie before tucking it into the stocking.
