She combines the vintage Epicurean Collection from 7gypsies with the classic Canvas Corp Farmhouse Kitchen Collection to create this perfect little project. A great way to collect recipes at your next cookie exchange, bridal shower or super club.

Welcome! It is Gloria Stengel – Gloria Scraps Blog Spot and I am sharing a project inspired by the Epicurean Collection! No matter your background, heritage or country of origin, the Epicurean Collection has the images you need to create a foodie inspired project.
Food often means comfort to us as we dream of our favorite meals prepared by our mom, grandmother, sister, or father. Our food memories are often some of our strongest and sweetest memories. In this electronic age, with millions of recipes and hundreds of food blogs at the click of a button, we still love hand printed recipe cards, recipe books, and food journals. I have created the perfect gift to give to a new bride, to hand out at recipe swaps, or to share with a child moving away from home. This recipe envelope is decorated in vintage images and stuffed full of recipe cards!

I used a 5 1/4″ x 7 1/4″ kraft envelope for my project base. I lined the envelope with Epicurean Hoagie paper. I trimmed a strip of Epicurean Pomodoro checked paper and added it to the lower portion of the envelope. I topped the paper with a strip of canvas trimmed from one of the 12″ x 12″ canvas sheets.
I layered images trimmed from the various Epicurean papers with the images from the Epicurean Mini Ephemera pack. I trimmed out “favorite recipes” and “yum” from the Farmhouse Kitchen Stripe paper. The focal point of the envelope is the large Route 66 sign topped by the Antique Silver Cutlery. In the “old days,” the cafes and diners along Route 66 were a huge part of American food culture. I wanted to celebrate that on this project!
I stuffed the envelope with recipe cards. To give this as a gift, you could write out your favorite recipes for the gift recipient. For a shower gift, you could take blank cards to the party and allow all the guests to fill out a recipe card.
I added one of the min ephemera, which looks like one of grandma’s handwritten recipes, by clipping it to the project with a mini clothespin.
I used one of the Recipe Tags (Gypsy Moments Collection) as the gift card for the project. One of the small clothespins is perfect for clipping the tag to the project. Plus, it allows for the addition of one of the Kitchen Charms. It would be fun to ask other folks to also give the gift recipient a charm, and then she would have the start of a sweet charm bracelet as a memento of the party!

I love the way Gloria transformed this envelope into a gift package! The finished look is so wonderfully vintage! I’m going to keep this idea in mind for the next time I have to attend or host a bridal shower! It’s fabulous!
