Everyone of us is different and that is what makes us so special and it is so fun to get to know our crew members better, what inspires them, where they started…. Where do you reside? Concord, California, just outside of San Francisco.
Describe your design style…. Vintage inspired. I love repurposing and have a unique rustic, mid-century, farmhouse style. Maybe I should just say “eclectic”.
We ask each designer to create a mini canvas that shows off their style and personality all in one and this one does just that for Ann. Love the neutral colors and the textures. The perfect details and her love of family.
Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity? My mom probably influenced me more than anyone. She was an art major and taught us to be creative with what we had around us while I was growing up.
What inspires you most today? The supplies themselves often inspire me. I usually buy things just because I like them and I don’t know what I’ll do with them until I’ve lived with them in my studio for a while.
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Wow… I always find it hard to pick just one thing. Probably just the plain canvas pennants because they’re so versatile and easy to create with.
What is your favorite project you have created using CCB Products & Why is it your favorite? Our remote control tray that I made with the printed canvas is my favorite right now. It sits on our coffee table and gets used every day!
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places? I don’t teach, but I do host craft days at my house with friends. We have a lot of fun!
I am the happiest doing….. shopping at thrift stores with my daughter!
My favorite place to be creative….. in my home studio, which used to be my daughter’s bedroom before she moved out.
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space… Having a room of my own is my secret to getting a lot done. When I was trying to create on our dining table I spent way too much time getting everything out and cleaning up afterwards. This way I can just leave my projects out and work on them whenever I have a few extra minutes.
Share with us anything about your creative life that you feel would inspire others… I think that everyone is creative in some way. I have ladies tell me all the time that they’re not creative. But they put together great outfits, cook amazing dinners, and coordinate parties for their kids. Those are all creative!
