FEATURED CREW MEMBER: Linda Sandblåst Skotheim

Today we are going on a journey across the Atlantic Ocean to the West Coast of Norway was has two official names: Noreg in Nynorsk (Old Norse: Noregr) and Norge in Bokmål (Old Norse: Noregi, dative of Noregr). The name Norway comes from the Old Norse word Norðrvegr, “Northern Way” which the Geats and the Danes named the coastline of Western Norway, contrasting with Suðrvegar “Southern Way” for Germany, and Austrvegr “Eastern Way” for the Baltic.

Describe your design style….I love to mess around and always want to test out new things.  This is an amazing hobby. I can go from lots of mediums and paint, to flowers and a more simple styles, I like to try it all. But the one thing I always go back to are tags, I just love the free form that a tag gives.
Linda lets her imagination soar and created many of her projects from the inspiration of the moment, using her creativity to create beautiful pieces that are simply out of this world. Here is just one example. This piece is called “Lollipop Card and Baby Wand” how cute is this? Click on the link to view the whole project!

Who or what do you give credit to for inspiring your creativity? I do love pinterest, magazines (both paper and online) and of course from the products itself. I do love to get something that I normally would not buy and let the item itself inspire me (and that happens a lot.) And I must say that the crew here at Canvas Corp Brands is just so full of inspiration and it makes you want to just try everything out. But the biggest credit has to go to my two kids, to sit in my paper play room together with one of them and just let their free spirit decides the process and takes you to places you never thought you could go.
What inspires you most today?  My daughter, she is just so fun to have around in my craft room and she helps me be more free in my creative journey every day.

What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? (We asked them to pick just one, which has proven to be difficult for some and easy for others.) Glimmer Mist Pearl (with Dazzling Diamonds right by its side). This mist makes everything shine. A simple flower with some ink on the edges takes on a whole new level when you mist it with GM pearl, it is just a must have product.

What is your favorite project you have created using CCB Products? The Mixed Media Origins Paper rose…. I am so in love with this paper and can’t wait to get my hands on more of them. And it made my old Ipad box into a CCB treasure box…

Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places? I do teach, and have only been teaching in Norway so far (but just invite me, I will travel almost anywhere). The last place that I taught was in Stavanger, Norway at Papirfesten and I had a total blast and have to say that it is one of the best crops I have ever seen. My classes have been a bit of mixed media, folding and more.
I am the happiest doing…..What my heart wants. And that can be different from day to day.
My favorite place to be creative…..In my craft room or my kids and I say call it, our cozy room!

Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space. I have got a veranda with a full view of the Atlantic Ocean right outside my craft room… And the view is one of a kind and totally amazing. The view on the evening of April 4, 2016.

Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…I started talking (really talking) before I was one and have not shut up since.
Each Crew Member was asked to create a 4 x 4 stretched canvas art which resembled their personality. We love what Linda did to hers. A total mix media piece layered with a blend of aquas, teals, blues and creamy white are beautiful…..
