They have a collection of Naturally Aged Kits. ‘What are they?,’ you ask. Well… they are sets of 4 different paints that work together to create a one-off faux finish; you can choose from wood faux finishes, vintage metal faux finishes, faux finishes that look like natural stone and architectural finishes like brick, stone and concrete. If you follow the instructions attached (yes, no improvising here… sorry), you will be able to achieve amazing life-like results on all kinds of surfaces. Our Crew member, Monica Taylor shares how she used the Rusty Metal kit to make a plain card die-cut look like a set of rusty pipes.
‘As a vintage designer, I love the distressed, aged look. This includes rust. Unfortunately, I have always struggled with this technique until now. Using the Naturally Aged Paint System kit, I was able to create a Faux Rust Finish and add Rusty Pipes to my design.’ – says Monica.
Materials used:

Distress Crayon – Black Soot
Grunge Board
Bigz Die Cut – Pipeline
Tools:
Tweezers
Heating Tool
Paint Brushes
Big Shot
Monica shares quick steps on how to make your projects look rusty:
Cut your pipe design using Grunge board or any thick card stock. Apply White Hip to the entire surface of the shape making sure that the paint pools. Using your heating tool, dry to make it bubble.
Apply BB Clay with your paint brush on top where the White Hip has bubbled. Use heat tool to dry.
Apply Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist with paint brush to cover the entire surface. Use heat tool to dry. Spray the shape with Stone Glimmer Mist and heat dry. Add Black Soot distress crayon to edges.
