As we explore unique ways to create Christmas cards this year, we love Crew Member Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan’s idea for incorporating recycled and repurposed boxes and cards and you could even use tags and old gift wrap. Every year we still get Christmas cards in the mail that are manufactured and still beautiful of course so why not save them for next year to whip up something cool. You might be on the lookout for vintage postcards and Christmas cards next time you go to the Flea Market if you love this look too. A blend of new and old is the perfect twist for these sweet cards.
These are a few vintage inspired Christmas cards using faux vintage post cards as fronts on CCB Canvas Kraft cards. You can also collect old cards, make your own with stamps and paper or repurpose cards you receive each year. Various CCB items were added to embellish them.
Adding a gift to the card is a fun way to create a hostess gift, gift for a teacher or for a sweet friend and Jennifer added a Canvas Ticking Flower that is removable as it is a broach that you can wear on your coat. Such a cute idea.
I also made some matching gift boxes for small items and gift cards. These were made from some recycled card boxes which I had saved from a work project I was doing. I covered them with cardstock, stamped a sentiment on a die cut and embellished.
Materials Used:
