Featured Maker – Art by Maria Lunström

We are inspired by the world around us and love to showcase new and exciting artist, designers and crafters and our guest designer series is a great way to inspire our Crew as well as each one of you to try something different, show off a new style or help you think outside of your creative box, so from time to time we like to invite crafters to be our Guest Designer/Blogger for a month to challenge us to see things in a different way and so that we may learn more about our products through the eyes of a new designer. This month we have invited Maria Lundström. Art &  crafts is all the rage these days and we love that so many of our basic products are perfect for simple and clever crafty projects.

Maria´s style is graphic & colorful. Her art has a lot of details and intriguing patterns, and beside on  painting her art can be found on objects like trays, tables, pillows and fabric by the yard. Always with a sense of humor, a big portion of black ink and sparkling colors. Here is a bit about her…

CCB: Where are you from?

Maria:  Nyköping, Sweden. But I live in a small village in the North of Sweden called Gräsmyr. I have a small gallery – a former bakery that is located on our property (pictures above).

CCB: How would you describe your design style?

Maria:  My own…

CCB: How long have you been creating?

Maria: Since 2010

CCB: What is your go to product right now?

Maria: Paintings. Ink. Watercolors. Good quality watercolor paper.

CCB: Do you have a signature touch you like to include in all your pieces?

Maria: Yes, details, details details & black ink.

CCB: What advice would you give to someone who gets in a creative slump?

Maria: Continue and be true to your own style. Do not stress out about it.

CCB: What is the oddest inspiration you have used for one of your projects?

Maria:  Noting is odd as long as you get results.

CCB: Tell us one thing that people might not know about you.

Maria:  I have a pacemaker that helps my heart.

CCB: How often do you create?

Maria: Every day

CCB: Do you jot down your ideas before you do them or do you create as you go?

Maria:  Often in the beginning, but i rarely stay in the line.

Maria created a piece of art called “The Golden Tree”.

“I loved working with the Tattered Angels Mists. I had never tried similar products but truly fell in love with how they work together with my usual Watercolors & Ink. I love the shimmer!!”
