Christmas card time is fast approaching and we just love to share beautiful, simple cards where you can create 1 or 100 and share them with friends and family. For these cards, team member Marie Johansson used only one paper from the Holiday Miscellanies Collection: the Red Patchwork on White.
Many crafters love making their own Christmas cards and since they can be quite time consuming to complete, many start making Christmas cards as early as June. Well, it doesn’t have to be that time consuming and using the right products can really help. The cards I am showing today were really simple to make and I used very few supplies; a card, patterned paper, paint, flowers, thread, die cut leaves and a piece of cheese cloth.
The six different patterns on the Red Patchwork paper make it possible to make a set of totally different cards using the same base material. Your cards will all be a bit different, but look amazing together. While one is holiday in theme, the rest are everyday. Use that one for your Christmas card and save the rest for Valentine’s or 4th of July cards or use them all and make wonderful Christmas cards. They also look amazing with other red & white papers from Canvas Corp.
The Holiday Miscellanies papers come in a variety of colors, but we think red is just perfect for the holidays of course. The fun part about these papers is many papers in the collection come in smaller scale designs and in 4″x6″ sizes so you can make 6 cards from one sheet if you wish.
Add a sentiment from Canvas Corp’s Farmhouse Christmas Collection.
Add drops and slashes of red paint for dimension.
Red and white papers are a great neutral combo for the holidays – add gray and tan accents.
The simple designs of flowers, swirls and modern art are great backgrounds for your cards.
Create your own embellishments by cutting the papers into streamers and banners and adding flowers and lots of loose strings, such a cool look.
Don’t be afraid to even drop paint on your flowers, paint anything!!!
So grab the paper cutter, a bit of paint, some red & white papers and you can create an entire collection of holiday cards or turn them into thank you cards and make them a gift for the holidays – thank you notes for 2017.
Happy Holiday Crafting!!
